What are device twins?

Device twins are JSON documents that mirror the state of an IoT device in the cloud. Desired properties: the configuration the device should have (a reporting interval, for instance). Reported properties: the actual state the device reports. Tags: metadata for queries. Together they enable bidirectional device communication.
