Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about our IT services and technologies.
Services
Backend
Which database technologies do you use?‹
We work with both relational and NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL for complex relational data with ACID transactions, MongoDB for flexible document structures, MySQL for classic web backends and Redis as in-memory cache and session store.
How do you ensure the security of my data?‹
We implement multiple security layers: JWT authentication with refresh token rotation, role-based access control (RBAC), input validation against injection attacks, encrypted database connections, secrets management via environment variables and rate limiting against brute-force.
Can your backend systems handle high load?‹
Yes, we explicitly develop backend systems for high load. Strategies: horizontal scaling with load balancer, Redis caching for frequent database queries, connection pooling, database indexes and query optimization, asynchronous processing with job queues (BullMQ).
How do you integrate the backend with existing systems?‹
Integration is a core competency: REST APIs for standard integrations, webhooks for event-based communication, GraphQL for flexible data queries, message brokers for microservices. We integrate legacy systems via adapter pattern without modifying existing code.
Mobile Apps
Should I develop a native app or a cross-platform app?‹
We recommend Flutter (cross-platform) for most projects — one codebase for iOS and Android, 90% native performance, significantly cheaper development. Native (Swift/Kotlin) when: iOS-exclusive features, maximum performance for compute-intensive apps.
How long does mobile app development take?‹
Simple MVP app: 8-12 weeks. Standard business app with backend integration: 3-6 months. Complex enterprise app with many features: 6-12 months. We create a detailed project plan after requirements analysis.
Can you update or redesign my existing app?‹
Yes, app modernization is a frequent project. We analyze the existing app, identify technical debt and UX issues and develop a migration plan. Flutter migrations from native apps and complete UI redesigns are typical projects.
How are app updates handled after publication?‹
We distinguish between OTA updates (Over the Air) for JavaScript changes via Expo EAS Update — without store review, live within minutes. For larger updates requiring native code changes, the app goes through the normal review process.
Infrastructure
Which cloud providers do you support?‹
We support all leading cloud providers: AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. We help you choose the right provider for your needs or develop a multi-cloud strategy. Our architects are certified in all three platforms.
How can I optimize my infrastructure costs?‹
We analyze your existing infrastructure and identify savings potential. Typical measures: right-sizing of resources, reserved instances for predictable workloads, auto-scaling for variable load, spot instances for batch jobs. Our customers save an average of 30-40% of cloud costs.
How do you ensure the security of my infrastructure?‹
We implement a multi-layered security concept: network segmentation and firewalls, Identity & Access Management (IAM) following the least privilege principle, encryption at rest and in transit, security scanning in CI/CD pipelines and regular penetration tests.
Can you migrate my existing infrastructure to the cloud?‹
Yes, cloud migration is one of our core competencies. We follow a structured migration process: assessment of existing infrastructure, selection of migration strategy (rehost, replatform or refactor), gradual migration with minimal downtime and post-migration optimization.
Consulting & Planning
How does a typical consulting process work?‹
A consulting project starts with a 1-2 hour initial meeting (free of charge). Then: detailed as-is analysis, development of recommendations and strategy, presentation and alignment, support during implementation.
How can I ensure my project is successful?‹
Project success starts with clear requirements and realistic expectations. We help you define scope precisely, set measurable success criteria, identify risks early and ensure regular stakeholder communication.
How do you choose the right technologies for my project?‹
Our technology evaluation follows a structured process: prioritize requirements, identify candidates, define evaluation criteria, conduct proof-of-concepts and document the decision. We are vendor-independent and always recommend what best fits your specific situation.
How do you support us with requirements analysis?‹
We use proven requirements engineering methods: stakeholder interviews, user story mapping, event storming for domain modeling, prototypes for requirements validation. The result: a complete, prioritized backlog with accepted user stories and clear acceptance criteria.
Software Architecture
DevOps
What does DevOps bring me concretely?‹
DevOps reduces time from code commit to production deployment from weeks to minutes. Automated tests prevent regression bugs. Our customers typically report 70-90% shorter release cycles and 50-80% fewer production-critical errors.
Which tools do you use?‹
We use proven open-source tools: GitHub Actions or Jenkins for CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes for containerization, Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure-as-Code, Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring, ArgoCD for GitOps and Vault for secrets management.
Can DevOps be integrated into existing processes?‹
Yes, DevOps adoption is always a gradual process. We typically start with a 'quick win' — e.g. automated tests or a simple CI/CD for one project, then expand step by step. First measurable improvements are visible within the first few weeks.
How secure are automated deployments?‹
Automated deployments are more secure than manual ones because they are consistent and reproducible. We implement blue-green deployments or canary releases for zero-downtime and easy rollback.
Data Analysis
What data sources can you analyze?‹
We process almost all data sources: SQL databases, NoSQL databases, cloud warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake), ERP systems (SAP), CRM systems (Salesforce), IoT sensor data, web analytics (Google Analytics 4), Excel/CSV files and REST APIs.
How do you handle incomplete or incorrect data?‹
Incomplete data is the norm, not the exception. Our approach: data quality audit first, then missing value treatment (imputation, deletion or flagging depending on context), outlier detection and treatment, deduplication and normalization.
Can I also analyze real-time data?‹
Yes, real-time analytics is an important use case. We use Apache Kafka for streaming data, InfluxDB for time-series IoT sensor data, Grafana for real-time dashboards and Spark Streaming for complex real-time transformations.
Are the analyses GDPR-compliant?‹
Yes, GDPR compliance is a central part of our work. Measures include: pseudonymization and anonymization of personal data, access control following the least privilege principle, documentation of data processing, encryption at-rest and in-transit, EU-server data residency and deletion concepts.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
How long does it take for SEO results to become visible?‹
SEO is a long-term investment. First measurable improvements are typically visible after 3-6 months, significant ranking improvements after 6-12 months. We rely on sustainable, white-hat SEO methods for lasting results.

Nvidia

Yes, Railway offers EU West as a deployment region (Google Cloud in the Netherlands).
Does Railway support Docker deployments?‹
Yes, custom Dockerfiles can be used in addition to automatic Nixpacks builds.
SQLite
Ist SQLite für den produktiven Einsatz geeignet?‹
Ja.
Socket.io
When should I use Socket.io instead of pure WebSockets?‹
Socket.io is recommended when automatic reconnect, room management and fallback support are needed.
How does Socket.io scale in production environments?‹

With @hookform/resolvers/zod, a Zod schema is used directly as a resolver for React Hook Form.
easybell
What is an easybell SIP trunk?‹
A SIP trunk connects an IP phone system to the public telephone network over the internet. It provides phone numbers, extensions and a defined number of simultaneous calls for systems such as 3CX.
Can existing numbers be ported to easybell?‹
Yes. Individual numbers and number blocks can often be transferred. Correct contract data, sufficient lead time and a coordinated cutover and test plan are important.
Does easybell work with 3CX and Microsoft Teams?‹
easybell offers compatible SIP trunks for 3CX and a Teams Connector for business telephony in Microsoft Teams. The right option depends on the phone system, licenses, number plan and required features.
What happens during an internet or phone-system outage?‹
Depending on the plan and architecture, alternative destinations, forwarding or separate internet paths can be prepared. We define emergency routing and test how incoming calls continue during outages.
JavaScript
Destructuring, Spread/Rest-Operator, Arrow Functions, Template Literals, Optional Chaining (?.), Nullish Coalescing (??), async/await, Promise.all() und ES Modules (import/export).
